Granbury Youth Football is a young non profit organization (just in its 3rd year) benefiting the youth of Granbury, TX by offering youth flag and tackle football. The association was founded on the notion that higher accessibility and inclusivity in the sport, particularly for the youth of Granbury, will impact not only individual athletes, but also Granbury and its entire football community.
One of the benefits to the mission of making the sport more accessible, is giving a larger youth population the ability to learn and participate in football before middle school. This is just one of the values GYFA founding board members cherish. We love Granbury and want to see the success of football programs at the highest level in our town. We collaborate with GHS Football program heads on an annual basis, with the mindset of continuity in the development of athletes. The focus is to create a youth program that will produce a larger pool of athletes who have a passion and love for the game that can carry them to a Varsity winning program.
Don't mistake the above mission as a concession to winning or creating competitive athletes. If you have a passion for healthy competition, you probably share many of the same values as other executive board members. Football is a complicated, intricate, and passion filled sport and it is true, its not for everyone. We ask all board members, directors, coaches, and parents to maintain a competitive mindset but also to be mindful that the athletes are young and our priority is the development of all who participate. We believe in an Army Football type mentality, we are here for the collective, not the individual.
If the above values speak to you and you find yourself aligned with them, we hope that you will look at the many ways you can volunteer and support this mission. If serving as an Executive Board Member is something you are interested in, please explore the open positions below and nominate yourself or someone you think best suited to the chair position.
